Clean, Steady and Strong Burn
A very good sign. The spell has a very high chance of success. Results should last a long time
Slow Weak Burn
Energy may not be focused correctly. Request vague or too long. Not enough energy into spell. May be opposition to request.
Hissing, sizzling, crackling or popping
Spirits may be trying to communicate. Person you are directing the spell towards is answering back. if doing a spell against someone they could be fighting back.
Unsteady, jumping, sputtering, or flickering flame
Resistance against the spell. Higher the flame, larger the resistance against. May indicate a curse on you.
Puffs of white smoke
Request in granted. Normally a good sign and intentions are heard.
Puffs of black smoke
Normally a bad sign. Forces working against you.
Vanishing flame
Someone very powerful working against you. The Universe or diety has rejected your request. Wording is unclear or not charged enough
Self-Relighting flame
Intentions are still being considered by the spirits. Work still needs to be done. Spell has broken through obstacles
Candle doesn't burn at all
Too much resistance against you. Person you are doing a spell against has too powerful protection. Spell too weak.
Burning only on one side
Only half request may be granted. Refocus energy or restate request.
Burning with multiple flames
Someone may be working with or against you. Dancing together someone is working with you. Dancing against someone is working against you.
Candle cracks, explodes, sets something alight
Use extreme caution. Caster may be working against you. may be under attack. For reversing, hex-breaking, or uncrossing, the spell placed upon you has been broken.
Candle burns fast
Results will be seen quickly, but may not last long.
Wick makes a knot

Different images
Transient images are images that appear and then melt away as the candle burns. These images give you clues as to the real-time happenings.
Persistent images are images that remain in the wax after spell is done. May indicate the results of the spell.
Tears running down
Transient during spell someone will cry or be hurt emotionally before the spell succeeds.
Hanging waterfalls or frozen indicate it may require a lot of effort.
Images
Animals are a good sign and often a totem. Serpent-like indicate evil is being neutralized. Any claws, tails, strings indicates malicious, gossip and backstabbing.
Melting
Melts evenly, like flowers unfolding with even ridges, seen as roads and oaths are being open.
Love spells using 2 candles wax merges good sign. If not turmoil, arguments, stopping or breaking.
Pins in the wax
When using pins in a spell, clinging to wax seen as the person the spell is done for is clinging to the past.
If for memory, possible past life regression.
Glass Candles
Completely black, evil spell or negativity was sent your way and may be stopping.
Black on top only
Negative forces or another spell is working against you. White soot from middle down means the cleaning or curse breaker was successful.
Black at the bottom
Someone picked up on your spell and is sending negativity your way.
White soot on the glass
Need more cleansing and may need to be redone.
Burn marks on the glass
Enemies are stabbing you in the back.
